About Hodak family

The Hodak family is a hardworking and kind family that has been renting private accommodation for years. This family of six consists of father Marinko, a technical supporter, wife Đurđica is a “super host” and the key to success, and children Helena, Borna, Katarina, and Matej are there when help is needed. The family has been involved in tourism for years, and Marinko, inheriting his grandfather, decided to expand his business by opening a distillery. The family has a long tradition of plum brandy production, so Marinko decided to expand his offer by producing various liqueurs and jams.

The tradition of brandy production in our family has lasted for generations. It all started in 1938 when great-grandfather Ante returned from America and bought the first cauldron for brandy and baked the first brandy. Knowledge has been passed down for generations. Ante taught his son, and he taught his son and so it has been for generations. Brandy is produced by the family naturally and traditionally. Over the years the Hodak family has been nicknamed “Kotlar” because they were the only ones to own a boiler and produce brandy. The brandy boiler bought by Ante is still owned by the family.
